Movie Monday: Taken 3, Gears of War Movie, Hansel and Gretel Delayed, Mary Jane in Spiderman

Hello everyone! It’s Monday, the worst day of the week. But don’t worry. Movie Monday is here, and I have some interesting news. For all the people who are into video games and are rolling their eyes at another movie related post, don’t worry. I have some great posts on their way that pertain to video games. But right now, it’s time for Movie Monday.

Despite the terrible response to Taken 2, the screenwriter for Taken 2 has announced that Taken 3 is on the table. Robert Kamen said, “We didn’t start talking about Taken 3 until we saw the numbers. But then we said, ‘Oh, OK. I think we should do a third one.’ And Fox wants us to do a third one.” In other words, because this cash grab of a movie made big bucks, they want to make another movie to make more money.

What I want to do to Hollywood after hearing this news.

Talks are happening about the Gears of War movie. Just talks. Don’t die of excitement yet. I just thought that it would be good to let you know that Hollywood hasn’t forgotten about Gears.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has been delayed. It’s been pushed to January 25, 2013, so that it could get an IMAX release. This really sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing this film. Yes, that was sarcasm.

Shailene Woodley, the girl from The Descendants, is in talks to play Mary Jane in the Amazing Spiderman 2.

Shailene Woodley Actress Shailene Woodley attends "The Descendants" premiere during the 55th BFI London Film Festival at Odeon Leicester Square on October 20, 2011 in London, England.

I didn’t see the Descendants, but I have no problem with this girl as Mary Jane. As more Spidey news is revealed, rumors of Electro as the bad guy are sprouting up, and Harry Osborn is said to be in the film. For now, they are some very solid rumors. Neither of them are unlikely.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Let me know below what you think about this week’s news. See you soon!
