Movie Monday: JJ Abrams Directing Star Wars, Justice League Official Heroes, Marvel Phase 3, Red 2 Trailer

Ladies and gentlemen, there’s some big news that I have for you today. If you haven’t heard yet, Star War Episode VII has found its director.

JJ Abrams has been selected to direct the next Star Wars film. Some films that JJ Abrams has directed are Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and Super 8. He has also written for the TV Show Fringe. JJ has also produced Person of Interest and Revolution. He’s got a lot of stuff on his track record, and that was just a quick look at what he’s done. I love the stuff that this guy puts out, and he IS the Sci-Fi guy in Hollywood. This is a great decision.

Trekkies are likely wondering what will happen to Star Trek. It has been confirmed that Abrams will still be connected to Star Trek AT LEAST as a producer. In regards to Star Wars, JJ Abrams is not committed to a 2015 release date. Avengers 2, a Mockingjay movie, and the Justice League film are all set for a release in that year, and so it is a wise decision to hold off on the movie for the sake of raking in that cash.

The official heroes that will appear in the Justice League are as follows: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern. No Aquaman, unfortunately, but it makes sense.

Mermaid Man much?

The wave of Marvel Phase 3 movies have been announced. Ant-Man and Dr. Strange are the two heroes confirmed to be part of it. The Marvel Phase 2 movies are the Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America movies that are set to be released soon. Phase 3 is the time period after Avengers 2 is released.

The trailer for Red 2 has been released a while ago. I greatly enjoyed the first, so I’m looking forward to this movie.
