Thor: The Dark World Trailer

The trailer for Thor: The Dark World has arrived. Check it out!

It looks awesome. I wasn’t expecting Loki, however. I was mentally done with the guy after the Avengers. As long as it is explained why Jane is off of Earth, this could be a bit hit. I loved the first Thor, so I’m excited for the second installment! What did you think of the trailer? Let me know in the comments below.

Movie Monday: Superman Getting the Dark Knight Treatment, Skyfall Theme Song, Worst Trailer of the Year

Hello everyone! This weekend I watched four movies, one of which was Looper. The review for that will be out this week. Without any further delay, let’s get this started. Movie Monday, here we come.

Man of Steel will be getting the Dark Knight treatment. Zack Snyder, the director of the upcoming Superman movie, said, “What Christopher Nolan (the producer of the film) and I have done with Superman is try to bring the same naturalistic approach that we adopted for the Batman trilogy. We always had a naturalistic approach, we want our stories to be rooted in reality, like they could happen in the same world we live in.”

He also adds, “It’s not that easy with Superman, and actually this doesn’t necessarily mean we will make a dark movie. But working on this reboot we are thinking about what would happen if a story like this one actually happened. How would people react to this? What impact would the presence of Superman in the real world have?”

So it seems like Man of Steel will be more realistic than classic comic-booky. That’s alright with me. In Nolan We Trust.

Last week, I had announced that Adele would be singing the official Skyfall theme song. A day or two after I posted the news, the song was released. Because there is no such thing as Movie Wednesday, because that is an absurdly unoriginal, corny name, I had to wait before I could show you the song. But, alas, it is Monday, and so I present to you Skyfall, by Adele.

It sounds pretty great to me. I approve.

I usually don’t post bad trailers on Movie Monday, because that would be pointless, but this has got to be the absolute worst trailer of the year. Everything about it terrible. It doesn’t create the slightest bit of suspense. Not a sliver. Instead, I am laughing. Here it is: The trailer for Big Foot: The Lost Coast Tapes. *sigh*

This is why the Found Footage genre is failing. Anyways, that’s all for this week! I have a lot of reviews coming your way. Thanks for reading!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I Now Present to You Movie Monday, featuring the new Hobbit Trailer

Why the fancy title? Well, I was away from the Internet this weekend, as I was in the process of moving. With a sore body, I now bring you Movie Monday. Believe it or not, there is only one piece of news that isn’t rumor and boredom. The new trailer for the Hobbit has been released.

It’s looking great. It confirms my suspicions about the dwarves being used as comedic relief. I am completely alright with that, because it looks like they’ll be serious when they need to be. The Lord of the Rings universe is very apparent here, and I’m not worried at all. I’m ready for this movie.

Thanks for checking in! It feels good to be back online. Now it’s time to get a move on with the news Women Wednesday. Oh, and I want to motivate my mother. Leave a comment on her first Rage Segment with feedback. I want her to keep doing Rage Segments, but she won’t listen to me without persuasion. Here‘s the post. Please leave a comment on it. Thanks a lot:)

Movie Monday: James Cameron is a Liar, 300 Prequel Gets a Title, Bourne and Ted Sequels, Lincoln Trailer and Stand Up Guys Trailer

There’s a TON going on this week. Wednesday brings the first Women Wednesday, Friday brings my mom’s first Rage Segment, and I may just put out a review for Minecraft. But, today is Monday, and that means that it’s time for some movie news.

James Cameron is a liar. Months back, Cameron said that he’s in the Avatar business. He declared that he wasn’t going to be involved with anything that isn’t Avatar related. Well, he lied. After the Avatar projects, he hopes to adapt something called Battle Angel, this manga from the 90’s. I don’t care that he does other things, but I dislike that he made such a firm statement, only to completely destroy its credibility.

The 300 prequel that I was not aware of has been retitled. It is going to be called: 300: Rise of an Empire. I watched half of 300, and I wasn’t into it. Is a 300 prequel something you look forward to? Let me know in the comments below.

Universal has announced that they want to make Ted 2 as soon as possible. I didn’t catch Ted, but I heard great things about it. The last comedy to be received that well was the Hangover, which was hilarious, but its sequel was disappointing. Who knows, maybe Ted 2 will be just as good as the first. Also, more Bourne movies are being planned. Shamefully, I have not seen one Bourne movie. I am planning to watch all four, but until then, I can’t judge whether this is a good decision or not.

We have our first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. No, not Vampire Hunter, but an actual movie about Abraham Lincoln. Take a look:

It looks very Spielbergy. Let’s move onto our second trailer. This is Stand Up Guys, a movie starring Al Pacino. Check it out:

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Movie Monday: Star Trek 2 Title, Safe House Sequel, Daniel Craig to Play Bond 5 Times, Al Pacino as Joe Paterno, Avatar 4, Marvel Sued, and Hansel and Gretel Trailer

Hello everyone. Movie Monday is here once again. This week should be a good one. I have a great post in store for tomorrow, the new Dave Matthews Band album is coming out on Tuesday, and I am sure that there is more to come later in the week. But you’re here for the news, so let’s get to it.

Star Trek 2 officially has a title. It will be called Star Trek Into Darkness. On the topic of darkness, Chris Pine recently said, “We’re not making Batman. That’s not our deal.” Pine is saying that Star Trek isn’t going to be made more dark and gritty. It will be have the same tone as the first film.

Unfortunately for us, Hollywood is going to be barfing out another movie that we don’t need or want. Safe House 2 is in the works. It isn’t confirmed whether the sequel will be a prequel or a continuation of the first movie.

Studio executives are saying that Craig will play Bond at least 5 times. With involvement with Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall, that means that Craig will be in at least two more Bond movies. He is the right guy for Bond’s current state, in my opinion, and I look forward to seeing him carrying on the role of 007. It is believed that Bond movies will begin to be released in two year increments, so a Bond film in 2014 is very likely. Fun fact. When I was younger I was obsessed with James Bond. Some kids liked Spongebob. Some looked up to Timmy Turner. I, however, was trying to find out who 007 was, and I came to the conclusion that Simon Cowell was really James Bond.

Here is some really surprising news. Al Pacino will be playing Joe Paterno in a biopic about the Penn State scandal. I am curious to see who will be playing Jerry Sandusky. What do you guys think of this movie? Is it too soon?

Avatar 2 and 3 have been confirmed to be filming back to back, advancing the story of Avatar, but the 4th is going to be a prequel. James Cameron said the following: “I haven’t really put pen to paper on it, but basically it goes back to the early expeditions of Pandora, and kind of what went wrong with the humans and the Na’vi and what that was like to be an explorer and living in that world,” “-Because when we drop in, even in the first film in ‘Avatar 1,’ as it will be known in the future, we’re dropping into a process that’s 35 years in to a whole colonization. That will complete an arc and if that leads into more, we’ll start, not imitating Star Wars, but it’s a logical thing to do because we’ll have completed the thematic arc by the end of three. The only thing left to do is go back to see what it was like on those first expeditions and create some new characters that then become legacy characters in later films. It’s a plan.”

Marvel has been sued by Rimowa GmbH, the German company that designed the Avengers briefcase. The packaging of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One- Avengers Assembled box set, which contains a 10 disc set of all the Marvel films, is designed in the same way as the actual prop. It is the same in every respect except for actual quality. Take a look:

So these German guys are saying that they can’t replicate the design, because it’s not being used as a prop in the movie. As a result, the box set will still be released, but in different packaging, and likely with something extra, to compensate for the delay of the release.

Lastly, the trailer for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has been released. Here it is:

The witches look pretty intimidating, and Jeremy Renner will likely carry the movie. He is a great supporting actor, and he performs well in roles where he is partnered with someone else. I cannot be sure whether this movie will be a good one or not. We’ll have to see.

So that’s all for this week! Let me know what you thought in the comments below.

5 Things You May Have Missed in the Dark Knight Rises Trailer

The movie is nearly here, so let’s take a look at 5 things you may have missed while watching the DKR trailer. I bet that you haven’t caught all of this while watching it.

So here’s the trailer. Read below and stop at the appropriate times to see what I’m talking about.

5. The Robin logo

At 0:14, take a look at the guys holding up letters. The R is the same type of R that Robin used back in the day. This could be hinting at Robin/Nightwing rising up to take over Batman’s place as Gotham’s hero. There has been ongoing speculation about John Blake being Robin/Nightwing, so this isn’t as improbable as one would think.

4. Bruce Wayne with a Cane

At 0:22, you could clearly see that Bruce Wayne has a cane. Is this a clip at the beginning of the movie, or from the end? In the comics, Bane breaks Batman’s back. Maybe something similar happens in DKR.

3. Harvey Dent’s Memorial

At 0:36, you could see a picture of Harvey Dent, and Gordon going up on stage to give a speech of some sort. You probably noticed this. But it’s more important than you may think. The Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after the events of the Dark Knight. 8 years after Dent’s death, the people of Gotham are still remembering him. This is proof that Joker’s plan of an “ace in the hole” didn’t pay off. The people of Gotham are mourning Harvey Dent, whose death they see as Batman’s fault. They aren’t going to be very welcoming to Batman when he returns. Not instantly, that is.

2. Anne Hathaway and the Pearl Necklace

At 0:54, you see Anne Hathaway wearing a pearl necklace that is very similar to the one that was Bruce Wayne’s mother’s in Batman Begins…is it the same one? Catwoman is a thief, and we saw her in Wayne Manor in the trailer. Is her whole motivation for being there revolving around stealing this necklace? Maybe so. It’s obvious that the Cat and Bat won’t get along instantly regardless.

1. Ward

At 1:31, you see the back of the player’s jersey. It reads ‘Ward.’ Hines Ward is a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He and a few other big Steelers are said to be in the film, playing on Gotham’s football team. Believe it or not, the explosion was real, of course dramatized through post production, but Ward had to literally run for his life.

So that’s all I have for you guys. For all those going to see the movie at midnight, enjoy. I will be seeing it on Friday, and the review will be up before I fly out to Jersey. Have a great day, and let me know if you didn’t catch these things before this post. I love your comments. 🙂
